951. Railways approves six-lane road-over-bridge near Mangalagiri
- On 4 October, 2025 it was reported that, The Ministry of Railways has approved a six-lane road over bridge (ROB) between Mangalagiri and Krishna Canal stations at an estimated cost of ₹112 crore. The bridge will be built on the E-13 extension road connecting Amaravati with NH-16.
- The project, fully funded by Railways, was initially planned as a four-lane bridge but later revised to six lanes considering future traffic. The location is strategic, linking Amaravati to the Chennai–Howrah railway line via Vijayawada.
- Preliminary design and drawing works will begin soon before tendering. The new ROB will ease traffic flow to the capital region, eliminate railway crossing delays, and enhance road and rail safety in the busy Amaravati–Vijayawada corridor.
952. Haryana: ₹325-cr Sabar Dairy inaugurated in Rohtak: India’s dairy sector grew by 70% in 11 years, says Shah
- Union Home and Cooperatives Minister the ₹325 crore Sabar Dairy (Amul) plant at Industrial Model Township, Rohtak, on 3 October, 2025 The facility will strengthen dairy supply in Haryana and the National Capital Region with modern production capacities.
- Sabar Dairy, established by Sabarkantha District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, will produce curd, yogurt, buttermilk, and sweets daily. Shah highlighted India’s 70% dairy growth over 11 years, plans to connect every village to a cooperative by 2029, and White Revolution 2.0 targets.
- The plant will generate employment, improve animal feed and manure management, and enhance cooperative procurement. Shah also attended the Khadi Artisan Festival, promoting ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ with modern machines and artisan support, while students protested alleged university mismanagement during his visit.

953. UPI Sees 31% Transaction Count Growth At 19.63 Billion: NPCI
- In September, 2025 UPI recorded 19.63 billion transactions, a 31% year-on-year growth, with a transaction value of ₹24.90 lakh crore, reflecting steady month-on-month growth and an average daily transaction amount of ₹82,991 crore, according to NPCI data released On 01 October,2025.
- The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) manages UPI. To facilitate high-value payments, NPCI raised person-to-merchant limits to ₹10 lakh per day for specified sectors while maintaining person-to-person limits at ₹1 lakh, easing large transactions in capital markets, insurance, travel, EMIs, and e-commerce.
- The revised framework allows higher per-transaction limits for credit card bill payments, Government e-Marketplace transactions, and loan repayments. These measures aim to promote digital adoption, simplify large payments, and reduce reliance on cheques and traditional banking methods.

954. Prime Minister Modi unveils ₹6,957 crore development project in Assam for building highways
- On 4 October,2025 It was reported that, The Central government, under PM approved ₹6,957 crore for the upgradation of National Highway 715 in Assam, including a 34.5 km elevated corridor across Kaziranga National Park, four-lane highway expansion, and two Greenfield bypasses, boosting North-Eastern connectivity.
- The Assam BJP highlighted the role of CM and the NDA government in driving the project. It will be implemented under the EPC model, ensuring construction, procurement, and project execution while integrating wildlife-friendly measures across Kaziranga and Karbi Anglong.
- The project will reduce traffic congestion, protect wildlife, and generate 34.61 lakh man-days of employment. Of the total cost, ₹4,829 crore is for construction and ₹622 crore for land acquisition, significantly enhancing Assam’s economy and North-Eastern infrastructure.

955. New special train services launched between Bidar and Bengaluru for enhanced connectivity
- On 4 October 2025 it was Reported that, Indian Railways will run special Bidar–Bengaluru Cantt trains 07063/07064 starting October 4–5, stopping at Kalaburagi, Shahabad, Humnabad, Yadgir, Raichur, Guntakal, Anantapur, and other stations, with 24 coaches including AC, Sleeper, General, and Luggage vans.
- Reservations for these special trains are open via IRCTC, computerised counters, and the UTS app. Passengers are advised to carry valid tickets to avoid inconvenience. The trains aim to improve connectivity between Karnataka and neighboring regions efficiently.
- Railways Minister recently flagged off Amrit Bharat Express and passenger trains in Bihar, highlighting enhanced infrastructure, electrification, new tracks, and increased budget. Projects like Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat trains are boosting regional connectivity and transportation efficiency.
956. MP’s Panna Tiger Reserve now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
- On 3 November 2020, Panna National Park in Madhya Pradesh has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This popular tourist spot has now been included in the global network of biospheres.
- UNESCO's recognition mentioned Panna Tiger Reserve as a critical tiger habitat. It stated that the area has undergone substantial ecosystem restoration in the buffer zone. With only three urban centres and over 300 villages, agriculture is the main source of income here, together with horticulture, forestry and cultural and eco-tourism.
- Reportedly, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) declared Panna Tiger Reserve as a Biosphere Reserve in 2011. Now, after a period of nine years, UNESCO has included it in the Man and Biosphere programme.

957. Spiti Valley becomes India’s first cold desert biosphere reserve under UNESCO’s Man, Biosphere Programme
- The Spiti Valley of Lahaul-Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh, perched high in the Trans-Himalayan region, has been recognised as India’s first Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve under UNESCO’s prestigious Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme.
- It is among the 26 new biosphere reserves designated across several countries. With this inclusion, India now has 13 biosphere reserves in the MAB Network. The recognition was formally conferred during the 37th International Coordinating Council (MAB-ICC) meeting held in Hangzhou, China, from September 26 to 28, 2025.
- The Spiti Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve spans a geographical area of 7,770 square kilometres, covering the entire Spiti Wildlife Division (7,591 sq km) and adjoining parts of the Lahaul Forest Division, including Baralacha Pass, Bharatpur and Sarchu (179 sq km).
- The region is ecologically rich, harbouring 655 herbs, 41 shrubs and 17 tree species, including 14 endemic and 47 medicinal plants central to the Sowa Rigpa/Amchi healing tradition.

958. Goa launches new startup policy to create 1,000 ventures, generate 10,000 jobs
- On 3 October 2025, The Goa government launched the Goa Startup Policy 2025 last week to establish 1,000 startups, generate 10,000 jobs for Goans, and support women entrepreneurs, aiming to transform the coastal state into India’s “creative capital” by 2028.
- Implemented by the Department of State IT, Electronics and Communication (DITEC), the policy connects startups with venture funds, incubators, corporates, and academic institutions. It introduces schemes for campus innovation, skill enhancement in AI, and mentorship with financial aid for women entrepreneurs.
- With 696 DPIIT-recognised startups already active, the policy will support 100 startups in accessing venture funding, collaborate with 50 startups, and promote innovation hubs and IT labs strengthening Goa’s ecosystem for technology, creativity, and employment-driven entrepreneurship.
959. Airbus partners with Tata for Make in India choppers, to roll out by 2027
- On 3 October, 2025, Airbus Helicopters, in partnership with Tata Advanced Systems, is establishing a final assembly line for the H125 utility helicopter in Karnataka under the Make in India initiative. The first ‘Made in India’ H125 is expected by early 2027, with regional exports planned.
- Tata Advanced Systems will handle assembly, integration, and testing of H125 helicopters, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Airbus and Tata aim to offer both civil and military (H125M) versions with high levels of indigenised components and technologies.
- The H125, part of Airbus’ Ecureuil family, is capable of extreme high-altitude operations, including Mount Everest landings. The helicopters will support emergency medical services, disaster relief, tourism, and law enforcement, strengthening India’s civil and defence aviation capabilities.
960. Goodluck India signs tripartite agreement to bid for DRDO’s aircraft programme
- On 3 October,2025, Goodluck India announced a tripartite agreement with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) and Axiscades Technologies to jointly bid for DRDO’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme, aiming to develop a fifth-generation stealth fighter in India.
- Goodluck India, a special steel and defence manufacturer, will leverage its expertise in defence-grade manufacturing and engineering. The partnership aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, combining the strengths of all three companies for India’s strategic indigenous defence programme.
- Goodluck Defence, a subsidiary, has received an industrial license to produce medium-calibre artillery shells. With six facilities in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat and expertise in high-end forgings and precision steel products, the company aims to strengthen India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
